Devotionals:
Let’s be honest, many of the popular devotionals today feel-nice to read, but they are rarely rooted in scripture, and some are downright scary. So with that in mind, here are some devotional books I heartily recommend as useful and biblical.
- Morning and Evening by Charles Spurgeon. (available free online or in physical copies)
- Valley of Vision: A collected work of puritan prayers and devotions
- Experiencing the Trinity by Joe thorn
- My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers (available in a book or free online)
Historic Confessions of faith:
- The 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith in modern English (my personal confession of faith)
- Canons of Dort (a doctrine of salvation from the early church)
Catechisms that are awesome:
- Keach’s Catechism (Baptist Catechism)
- New City Catechism (A modern take by Tim Keller and others on the historic Christian catechisms)
